Career Goals

After a semester of Pathway, I have a budding idea of my career goals and plans. In the future, I hope to use the expertise of data analysis to help me succeed in starting a business. However, well-designed progressive goals are necessary to pave the way for this dream.

As a graduate student, the first thing I need to do is to achieve excellent results in academic research. Considering my profession, the most important skills are divided into three parts. First, I need to be proficient in the relevant programming languages, including R Programming, Python and Hadoop, which are the most important tools for data analysis when I master.

Secondly, it is also necessary to establish logical thinking by learning the necessary mathematical and statistical knowledge, which gives me the skills to analyze data. More importantly, gaining hands-on experience in processing data through internships related to data analysis can help me truly understand the field of data analysis and build valuable experience for future careers.

The outstanding performance of academic research can pave the way for my future career. Nowadays, with the rapid development of China’s information with a large population, the data generated in daily life is too much to be fully managed, which forms the necessity of a large amount of labor with data processing expertise. This motivated me to devote myself to the field of China. So, for now, I plan to continue my career in China after graduation. Therefore, I am looking for a summer internship to help me gain experience in data analysis to help me get a better offer when I return to my country.

In the last place, the time limit for my long-term planning is 5 years around 2030. My long-term plan is to become a department manager for a mid-sized company before I was 35 years old and then become a deputy general manager or higher position in a large company before I was 40 years old.
